Age of Sail

Wooden ships everywhere. From the 1500s to 1800s, sailing ships were the best way to explore oceans and trade goods across the world. Countries built thousands of them to become powerful and rich.

Cannons changed everything. Sailors added cannons and guns to their ships, which made naval battles totally different. Now ships could fight from far away instead of just ramming into each other.

Discovery and adventure. Sailors used better maps and navigation tools to explore places Europeans had never seen before, like the Americas and new routes to Asia. These voyages connected continents in brand new ways.

Wind power peak. Sailing ships got bigger, faster, and fancier during this time, with multiple masts and enormous sails catching the wind. These beautiful ships were the most advanced technology on Earth for hundreds of years.

Steam ended the age. In the mid-1800s, steam engines were invented and ships with motors didn't need wind anymore. This invention ended the Age of Sail because steamships were faster and more reliable.
