Father of Algebra. Al-Khwarizmi wrote the first major book on solving equations, which we now call algebra. His work showed people a logical way to solve problems step by step.

House of Wisdom Scholar. Around 820 CE, he worked at the House of Wisdom in Baghdad, a famous center of learning where scholars studied math, astronomy, and science. This was during the Islamic Golden Age when knowledge was booming.

Algorithm's Real Origin. The word 'algorithm' (a set of step-by-step instructions) actually comes from al-Khwarizmi's name. Every time computers follow instructions, they're using an idea that traces back to him.

Many Fields of Study. He wasn't just a mathematician, he also wrote important works on astronomy and geography. His maps and calculations helped people understand the world better.

Influence Across Two Worlds. His ideas spread far beyond Baghdad, inspiring mathematicians in both the Islamic world and Europe for centuries. Scientists still use his methods today.
