Nestled in the Pyrenees. Andorra sits high in the eastern Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, making it a landlocked country surrounded by peaks.

Two rulers sharing power. Unlike most countries with one leader, Andorra has two co-princes: the Bishop of Urgell from Spain and the President of France both share rule over the country.

Born from a medieval deal. Andorra became an official country in 1278 when a charter was created, making it a lordship that stayed part of Catalonia for hundreds of years.

Connected to Charlemagne. People believe the legendary emperor Charlemagne created Andorra long ago, though the country didn't officially exist until much later.

Capital in the mountains. Andorra la Vella is both the capital and largest city, sitting in the valleys where it's the highest capital city in Europe.
