Aye-aye

Freaky finger. The aye-aye has an incredibly long, thin middle finger that's specially adapted for poking into tree bark and wood to grab insects. It's like nature gave it a built-in bug-fishing tool!

Never-ending teeth. Aye-ayes have rodent-like front teeth that never stop growing, just like rats and mice. They use these chompers to gnaw through bark and get at the tasty grubs inside.

Night creatures. Aye-ayes are nocturnal, which means they sleep during the day and come out to hunt and eat at night in the forests of Madagascar.

Listening for dinner. Aye-ayes have excellent hearing and use their big ears to detect the sounds of insects moving inside tree trunks, almost like echolocation!

Madagascar only. These strange lemurs are found nowhere else on Earth except the island of Madagascar, off the coast of Africa, making them truly one-of-a-kind.
