Located in Mumbai. Hindi cinema is based in the city of Mumbai, which was once called Bombay. That's where the word 'Bollywood' comes from, by mixing 'Bombay' and 'Hollywood' together.

Hindi language only. Bollywood makes movies specifically in Hindi, which is one of India's main languages. India actually has many other film industries making movies in different languages too.

Part of bigger cinema. Bollywood is just one part of Indian cinema as a whole. Indian cinema also includes South Indian cinema and many smaller film industries, each making movies in their own languages.

Known worldwide. Bollywood movies are famous around the world for their colorful dancing, catchy songs, and exciting stories. Many people mistakenly think 'Bollywood' means all Indian movies, but it's really just the Hindi-language films.
