Blade up front. A bulldozer has a huge metal blade attached to its front that can push massive amounts of dirt, sand, and rock out of the way. This blade is what makes it perfect for clearing land and moving material during construction.

Tracks instead of wheels. Most bulldozers move on continuous metal tracks, kind of like a military tank, which helps them grip the ground and travel through muddy or rocky terrain without getting stuck.

Ripper attachment. Bulldozers often have a tool called a ripper attached to the back with large hooks that dig into hard ground and rocks to break them up before the front blade pushes them away.

Construction essential. Bulldozers are one of the most important machines on building sites because they clear land, move soil, and shape the ground to prepare for roads, dams, mines, and buildings.
