Cool Facts
Italian origins. Cappuccino comes from Italy and gets its name from the Capuchin friars, who wore brown robes that matched the drink's color.
Layers of perfection. A real cappuccino has three parts: strong espresso on the bottom, steamed milk in the middle, and a thick layer of foamy milk on top.
Different around the world. In Italy, people usually drink cappuccino only in the morning, often with a pastry, but in other countries people enjoy it any time of day.
Temperature matters. The milk is heated to exactly the right temperature, usually between 150 and 155 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's hot but not too hot to burn your tongue.
Artistic topping. Baristas use the foam to create beautiful designs and pictures on top of your cappuccino, which is called latte art.
