Different types. Some car washes let you do the scrubbing yourself with sprayers and brushes, others have workers wash your car for you, and some use completely automatic machines that spray and scrub with no people involved.

Washing the whole car. Car washes clean the outside of your car with water, soap, and brushes, but some fancy ones can also clean the inside, including vacuuming the seats and floor.

Fundraiser events. Schools, sports teams, and other groups sometimes hold car wash fundraisers where volunteers wash cars and the money goes to help their organization or cause.

Lots of water used. Professional car washes spray thousands of gallons of water to rinse away dirt, mud, and grime from every part of your vehicle.
