India's lunar mission. Chandrayaan-3 was India's third attempt to land on the Moon. It built on lessons learned from earlier missions to send a lander and rover to explore Earth's closest neighbor.

Two main parts. The mission had a lander called Vikram and a rover called Pragyan. These machines worked together, with the rover rolling across the lunar surface while the lander gathered data.

Second chance success. Chandrayaan-2 had crashed while trying to land in 2019, but Chandrayaan-3 used better designs and technology to finally land safely and complete its mission.

ISRO's achievement. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) designed and launched this mission, making India one of very few countries to successfully land on the Moon.

Scientific exploration. The rover studied the Moon's surface, collected data about the terrain and soil, and helped scientists understand more about our nearest celestial neighbor.
