Borders five countries. Colombia sits on South America's northwestern edge, touching Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Panama, plus the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. It's the only South American country with coastlines on two different oceans.

Over 52 million people. Colombia has 32 regions called departments, with Bogotá as the capital and biggest city. Other major cities like Medellín, Cali, and Cartagena are busy hubs of culture and business.

Many languages spoken. While Spanish is official, Colombia recognizes 65 languages total, including Creole and English, plus 64 Indigenous and regional languages. This shows how diverse the country really is.
