Common Octopus

Super smart. The common octopus is one of the most intelligent ocean animals and one of the most studied octopus species in the world.

Eight arms. It's a mollusk in the group called cephalopods, which means "head-foot", its arms grow right from around its head.

World traveler. It lives across the eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Black Seas, and even near southern England and South Africa.

Island dweller. You can find it around the Azores, the Canary Islands, and the Cape Verde Islands, plus the Western Atlantic.
