DJs mix music. A DJ takes recorded songs and blends them together to create a continuous flow of music that keeps people dancing or listening. They use special equipment like turntables, controllers, or laptops to switch between songs and add cool effects.

Many types of DJs. Radio DJs play music on the airwaves for listeners at home, club DJs spin tracks in nightclubs to get crowds dancing, mobile DJs bring their equipment to weddings and parties, and turntablists are super skilled at using record turntables like instruments.

From records to digital. The word 'disc' comes from the old vinyl records DJs used to play, but nowadays DJs mix music from CDs, digital files, and other sources. The equipment has changed a lot, but the job of entertaining people with music is still the same.

Stage names and style. Many DJs create special stage names or pseudonyms to go by instead of their real names, kind of like how superheroes have secret identities. These names become part of their brand and personality.
