Dryosaurus

Plant-eating runner. Dryosaurus was a small ornithopod dinosaur that munched on plants and probably used its powerful back legs to run away from bigger meat-eating dinosaurs.

Western American fossils. Paleontologists discovered Dryosaurus bones in the western United States, and these fossils have been studied since the late 1800s to help us understand how dinosaurs lived back then.

Jurassic period resident. Dryosaurus lived during the Late Jurassic period, millions of years before the more famous T-Rex and Triceratops showed up on Earth.

Iguanodont relative. Dryosaurus belonged to a group of dinosaurs called iguanodonts, which were plant-eaters with special teeth made for grinding leaves and plants.

Dog-sized creature. This dinosaur was about the size of a large dog, making it one of the smaller dinosaurs that walked around during the dinosaur age.
