The tallest penguin. Emperor penguins are the tallest and heaviest of all living penguins, standing about 100 cm (39 inches) tall, roughly the height of a 5-year-old kid!

Heavyweight birds. These penguins can weigh anywhere from 22 to 45 kg, which is more than many grown-up dogs.

Antarctica only. They live exclusively in Antarctica, the coldest place on the planet, and nowhere else in the wild.

Fancy feathers. Their heads and backs are black with a crisp white belly, a pale-yellow breast, and bright-yellow ear patches that look like a splash of color.

Twins in style. Males and females look almost identical, they're about the same size and wear the same colorful feathers.
