Spinning storage. A flywheel is a heavy wheel that spins to store energy, kind of like a battery made of motion. The faster it spins, the more energy it can hold.

Keeps momentum going. Once a flywheel gets spinning, it wants to keep spinning because of physics. This helps machines run smoothly even when the power pushing them changes.

Used in engines. Flywheels are attached to car engines and other machines to smooth out bumpy power and make everything run steadier and quieter.

Heavier is stronger. A heavier flywheel stores more energy than a light one spinning at the same speed, which is why big industrial flywheels are so massive.
