Incredibly long reptile. Gharials are among the longest crocodilians alive, with females reaching 2.6 to 4.5 meters long and males growing even bigger at 3 to 6 meters, about as long as a car.

Pot-shaped nose. Male gharials have a bumpy boss at the end of their snout that looks like a ghara, an earthenware pot, which is where they got their name from.

110 sharp teeth. Gharials have 110 interlocking teeth that are needle-sharp, perfect for gripping slippery fish and making sure they never escape.

Fish-catching experts. Their long, narrow snout is specially adapted for hunting fish, allowing them to snap sideways through the water super quickly to catch their dinner.
