Two main styles. Golden ginger ale, created by Irish doctor Thomas Joseph Cantrell, is darker and spicier, while dry ginger ale, invented by Canadian John McLaughlin, is paler and has a much gentler ginger taste.
Bubbly and refreshing. Ginger ale is a carbonated soft drink, which means it's filled with fizzy bubbles that make it tingly and fun to drink.
Perfect mixer. People drink ginger ale on its own as a regular beverage, but it's also popular mixed with spirit-based drinks to add flavor and fizz to cocktails.
Irish and Canadian roots. This popular drink has a cool international history, with two inventors from different countries each creating their own version of what ginger ale could be.
