Go Fish

Simple card game. Go Fish is played with a regular deck of cards and works best with two to five players. The goal is to collect sets of four matching cards, like all the fives or all the queens.

How you play. Players take turns asking other players if they have a specific card rank, like 'Do you have any sevens?' If someone has that card, they give it to you and you get another turn. If no one has it, you 'go fish' by drawing from the deck.

Winning strategy. The player who collects the most sets of four matching cards wins the game. You need to remember which cards other players have asked for and what cards they might be collecting.

Ancient origins. Go Fish might be related to a game called Andare e piscere that people played in Italy around the 1400s, though we don't know exactly how that old game worked.

Great for families. Go Fish is perfect for young players because it's easy to learn and teaches important skills like memory, taking turns, and friendly competition.
