Golden Jackal

Color-changing coat. Golden jackals wear different colors depending on the season: a pale creamy yellow in summer and a darker tawny beige in winter. This helps them blend in with their surroundings all year round.

Smaller than wolves. Unlike their bigger cousin the Arabian wolf, golden jackals have shorter legs, shorter tails, more slender bodies, and pointier faces. They are built for a nimble, quick lifestyle.

Found everywhere. Golden jackals live across Eurasia and do so well that they are listed as Least Concern on the conservation list. They thrive wherever there is plenty of food and good shelter.

Wolf-like canid. Golden jackals belong to the same family as wolves and dogs, but they are their own special species with unique features adapted to their lifestyle.

Social survivors. These clever animals are excellent at finding food and living in different environments, from forests to grasslands, which is why their populations stay strong.
