Great Blue Turaco

Giant among turacos. The great blue turaco is the biggest turaco species, measuring 28 to 30 inches long, roughly the size of a small chicken. That's much larger than many other turaco birds.

Striking blue crest. It sports an impressive upright crest around 4 inches high made of blue-black feathers that makes it look extra fancy. Both males and females wear this fancy crown equally well.

Blue-grey beauty. Its feathers are mostly grey-blue, giving it a cool, elegant look that helps it blend in among the tree canopy. This coloring is perfect for a bird that spends its life high in the rainforest.

Rainforest roamer. The great blue turaco lives throughout African tropical rainforests where it can hop and glide between thick branches. These lush forests give it plenty of fruit to eat and trees to explore.
