World's Biggest Island. Greenland is the largest island on Earth, way bigger than any other island you've ever heard of. It sits between the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, east of Canada's Arctic islands.
Frozen Far North. Kaffeklubben Island, off Greenland's northern coast, is the northernmost undisputed point of land on the entire planet. It's so far north that it's one of the most extreme places you can reach on Earth.
Belongs to Denmark. Even though Greenland is huge and sits near North America, it's actually an autonomous territory of Denmark, a country in Europe. People born there are Danish citizens, but Greenland has its own government too.
Capital is Nuuk. The largest city and capital of Greenland is Nuuk, which sits on the southwestern coast. It's the home of most of Greenland's people.
Shares Border with Canada. Greenland touches Canada at a tiny spot called Hans Island, which is only 1.2 kilometers wide. It's one of the world's smallest borders between two countries.
