Masters of the Ocean. Harbor seals are true seals that live in the chilly waters of the Northern Hemisphere, from the Arctic all the way down to temperate coasts. They are the most widespread pinniped, meaning they are found in more places than any other seal or walrus relative.

Found Everywhere North. These seals live along the coasts of the northern Atlantic and Pacific oceans, as well as the Baltic and North seas. You could find them hauled out on rocks and ice floes from Norway to California to Alaska.

Adapted Swimmers. Harbor seals have streamlined bodies and powerful flippers that make them incredible swimmers in cold ocean waters. Their whiskers are so sensitive they can detect tiny fish moving through the water, helping them hunt in the dark depths.

Fish Hunters. These seals spend their time diving and hunting for fish, squid, and other ocean creatures. A single harbor seal can dive down hundreds of feet deep to find its dinner.
