Alumni return home. Homecoming brings back former students and members who haven't visited their school in years. They get to see old friends, meet current students, and celebrate what their school or organization means to them.

Big game event. Homecoming often happens around a major sports game, usually football in the fall. The game becomes the centerpiece of the celebration, with pep rallies, parades, and plenty of school spirit leading up to it.

Week of activities. Schools turn homecoming into a whole week of fun with decorations, theme days, dances, and contests. Students dress up in creative outfits and the whole school buzzes with excitement and pride.

American tradition. Homecoming started in the United States and Canada and is now a beloved tradition at many high schools, colleges, and churches. It celebrates the history and community of the organization and keeps former members connected.

Homecoming royalty. Many schools crown a homecoming king and queen during the celebration. These are usually popular or accomplished students who represent their class and get special recognition during game events.
