Tiny shark giant. Horn sharks are one of the smallest sharks in the world, growing only about 3 feet long, which is shorter than most humans are tall.

Bumpy eyebrows. These sharks have ridge-like bumps over their eyes that look like tiny eyebrows, which is one way to spot them in the ocean.

Sandy home separation. Young horn sharks live in deeper sandy areas while adults prefer shallower rocky reefs and seaweed beds, so families stay in different neighborhoods.

Spotted pattern. Their brown or gray bodies are covered with many small dark spots, making each horn shark look like it has its own unique dotted outfit.

Sharp dorsal spikes. Two large spines stick out from their back fins, which might help protect them from bigger predators in the ocean.
