One-horned rhinos rule. Kaziranga is famous for protecting the Indian rhinoceros, a massive animal with a single horn that once almost disappeared forever. Today, the park is one of the best places in the world to see these incredible creatures.

Jungle meets river. The park sits along the Brahmaputra River in northeastern India and is filled with tall elephant grass, dense forests, and water-filled marshes called beels. This mix of habitats creates the perfect home for dozens of different animal species.

Tigers prowl here. Bengal tigers hunt through Kaziranga's grasslands and forests, making it one of Asia's most important tiger reserves. The park was officially declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006 to protect these magnificent predators.

Elephants and buffalo roam. Asian elephants and wild water buffalo share the park's vast grasslands and forests with other animals like swamp deer and fishing cats. You can spot groups of these animals grazing together in the early morning or late afternoon.

Protected world treasure. Kaziranga is a World Heritage Site, which means the United Nations recognizes it as incredibly important for all of humanity. People from around the world come to visit and learn about protecting these rare animals.
