Lily of the Valley

Bell-shaped blooms. Lily of the valley has tiny white flowers shaped like perfect little bells that hang down in clusters called sprays. Each flower droops gracefully from its stem, creating a charming, dainty look.

Amazingly fragrant. These flowers have one of the sweetest, most recognizable scents in the plant world. Even a small bouquet can fill a whole room with its lovely perfume, which is why people have loved this flower for centuries.

Forest dweller. Lily of the valley naturally grows on the shaded forest floor in Europe and Asia, where it spreads like a soft green carpet. It thrives in cool, damp woodlands where the soil is rich.

Spring messenger. This plant bursts into bloom in spring, announcing that warm weather is finally arriving. Its flowers appear right when many other plants are also waking up after winter.

Red berries follow. After the flowers fade, small red berries develop where the flowers were. These berries are the plant's fruit and contain seeds for making new plants.
