Converts electricity. A loudspeaker takes electrical signals (basically instructions for sound) and transforms them into vibrations that travel through the air as sound waves we can hear.

Has many parts. Inside a loudspeaker are speaker drivers, which do the main work of making sound, plus an enclosure that holds everything together and helps the sound come out clearly.

Uses a magnet. Most speaker drivers work with magnets that push and pull a cone back and forth super fast, creating vibrations that make the air move and produce sound.

Works everywhere. Loudspeakers are in your headphones, car stereos, TV sets, concerts, and even your alarm clock, making sound loud enough for you to enjoy music, movies, and games.

Needs power. A loudspeaker can only work when it gets electrical power from a battery or wall outlet, which energizes the magnet and makes the whole system spring to life.
