A legendary wizard. Merlin is one of the most famous magical characters in stories, known for his incredible powers as a prophet and magician in the legends of King Arthur.
Created in the 1100s. A Catholic cleric named Geoffrey of Monmouth introduced the Merlin we know today in the 12th century, combining stories about different real and imaginary people into one character.
Royal advisor to kings. In the legends, Merlin served as a trusted advisor and prophet to Arthur's father, King Uther Pendragon, using his wisdom and magic to help rule Britain.
