Massive crushing machines. Monster trucks are specially built vehicles that stand about 12 feet tall (as tall as a basketball hoop) and weigh at least 10,000 pounds. They have huge 66-inch tires that are taller than most kids and can flatten cars like pancakes during shows.

Powerful V8 engines. Monster trucks use large-displacement V8 engines that give them incredible power to drive over obstacles and perform wild stunts. These engines are way more powerful than regular truck engines, letting monster trucks climb over giant objects and jump high into the air.

Custom built vehicles. While the first monster trucks were modified regular pickup trucks and SUVs, modern ones are purpose-built from scratch with special tube-frame chassis and lightweight fiberglass bodies. This lets engineers design them specifically for stunts and competitions.

Entertainment spectacles. Monster trucks perform at events like Monster Jam, where they crush cars, jump over obstacles, and do amazing tricks for huge crowds. These vehicles have become more about entertaining fans than traditional off-road racing.

Four-wheel control. Monster trucks have four-wheel steering, which means all four wheels turn to help the driver steer this massive machine. This special steering helps the driver control the truck even when it's at extreme angles or crushing cars below it.
