Started in Poland. The very first Grandparents' Day celebration happened in Poland in 1965. From there, the idea spread to other countries who loved the concept of having a special day just for grandparents.

Honoring two generations. Some places celebrate Grandparents' Day as one big holiday for all grandparents, while other countries have separate days for Grandmother's Day and Grandfather's Day.
