Desert Home. The Navajo live in the Southwestern United States, mostly in Arizona and New Mexico. Their homeland spans stunning red rock canyons, mesas, and desert landscapes.

Diné Language. The Navajo call themselves Diné, which means 'the people' in their language. Navajo is a Southern Athabaskan language that is unique to their culture and still spoken today.

Where They Live. Arizona and New Mexico are home to the largest Diné populations, with over 140,000 in Arizona and over 108,000 in New Mexico. More than three-quarters of all Navajo people live in these two states.
