Master Mimic. Northern mockingbirds can imitate the calls of over 200 different birds, plus sounds like car alarms and creaking gates. They're like nature's copy machines with wings.

Bold Wing Patches. These birds have gray or brown feathers on top and a lighter belly, with bold white patches on their wings and tail that flash when they fly. The white patches help other birds recognize them in the sky.

Year-Round Neighbors. Northern mockingbirds usually stay in the same place all year long, unlike many birds that migrate south for winter. They're tough enough to handle cold weather when they need to.

North American Natives. You can find northern mockingbirds from Canada all the way down to Mexico, in the Caribbean, and even on the Hawaiian Islands. They've adapted to cities, suburbs, forests, and deserts.
