Cool Facts
Desert champions. Oryxes are built for harsh desert life and can go incredibly long periods without drinking water. Their pale coats reflect the hot sun, keeping them cool in extreme heat.
Long, straight horns. Most oryxes have impressive long horns that are almost perfectly straight and have rings around them. These horns help them compete with other oryxes and look impressive to potential mates.
Bold face markings. Oryxes have pale bodies with striking dark markings on their faces and legs, like they are wearing fancy masks. The scimitar oryx is a bit different, with an orange-brown neck and curved horns instead.
Four species strong. There are four different kinds of oryxes that all prefer the same dry, dusty desert conditions. Each one has adapted perfectly to survive where other animals might struggle.
