God of Farming. Osiris ruled over crops, the harvest, and all growing things in ancient Egypt. Farmers prayed to him for good crops and plenty of food to eat.

The Green-Skinned King. Osiris was shown wearing a pharaoh's crown called an atef crown and holding a crook and flail, symbols of royal power. He was often painted with green skin to show he brought life and growth.

Death and the Afterlife. Osiris became the god of the dead and the afterlife, helping souls find peace in the next world. He showed ancient Egyptians that even death could lead to new life.

The Resurrection Story. When his evil brother Set killed and chopped Osiris into pieces, his wife Isis searched all of Egypt to find the parts and wrapped his body back together. This made Osiris the first god associated with mummy wrapping and brought him back to life.

Worshipped for Thousands of Years. Egyptians loved and prayed to Osiris for thousands of years until ancient Egyptian religion finally faded away. He was one of the most important gods in their entire civilization.
