Same Events, New Spirit. Para-athletes compete in running, jumping, and throwing just like able-bodied athletes do, but the competitions are specially designed so everyone gets a fair chance to show their skills and speed.
Wheelchair Racing Thrills. One unique para-athletic event is wheelchair racing, where athletes zoom around the track in specially designed racing wheelchairs at incredible speeds, making it one of the most exciting events to watch.
Club Throw Specialty. Club throw is another event created just for para-athletics, where athletes throw a wooden club similar to a javelin, and it's become a favorite event at Paralympic competitions.
Many Names, One Sport. Para-athletics goes by several names like disability athletics, disabled track and field, and Paralympic athletics, but they all mean the same amazing competition.
Athletes, Full Stop. Para-athletes are called either para-athletes or athletes with disability, because they're real competitors who train hard and deserve the same respect as any other athlete.
