Organized competitions. The Paralympic Games feature Winter and Summer events, just like the regular Olympics, with athletes competing in sports like wheelchair basketball, swimming, and skiing.

Global gathering. Athletes from countries around the world come together to compete, making it one of the biggest multisport events on Earth.

Follows the Olympics. Since 1988, the Paralympic Games have been held shortly after the regular Olympics in the same city, so fans can enjoy two amazing competitions back to back.

International governing body. The International Paralympic Committee, or IPC, runs all the Paralympic Games and makes sure everything is fair and well organized.
