Cool Facts
How you play. You pull back a spring-loaded plunger to shoot a silver ball into the machine, then use two flippers at the bottom to hit the ball back up the table before it falls through the drain.
Bumpers and targets. The ball bounces off colorful bumpers, ramps, and lit-up targets that all score you different amounts of points depending on where they are and what the machine's design is.
Name from history. Pinball got its name because old machines were covered with metal pins sticking out of the board that the ball would bounce off of, kind of like a maze made of nails.
Modern machines. Today's pinball cabinets are packed with flashing lights, electronic sounds, and fancy ramps that can launch your ball to exciting new parts of the table and unlock special bonuses.
Pure skill game. Unlike slot machines that rely on luck, pinball is all about your timing and how well you can control those flippers to keep the ball in play and hit your targets.
