Happens in February. The Sapporo Snow Festival takes place for seven days every February in Sapporo, Japan. It's one of the most famous winter festivals in the entire world.
Three amazing zones. The festival has three main locations: Odori Park, Susukino, and Tsudome. Each area has its own special snow and ice sculptures for visitors to explore.
Massive ice carvings. Artists create enormous sculptures from snow and ice, turning the city streets into an open-air art gallery. Some sculptures are as tall as buildings.
Glows at night. Many of the ice sculptures are lit up with colorful lights after dark, making the whole festival shimmer like a frozen dream.
