Home to Giants. Sequoia National Park protects some of the world's largest trees, the giant sequoias, which can grow taller than the Statue of Liberty and live for thousands of years.

Touches the Sky. Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, rises 14,505 feet above sea level right in this park, making it a destination for serious hikers.

Incredible Height Range. The park stretches nearly 13,000 feet up the mountainside, so the weather and plants change dramatically as you climb from the foothills to the peaks.

Huge Protected Area. Sequoia National Park covers over 404,000 acres of forested mountains, and it works together with nearby Kings Canyon National Park to protect this amazing landscape.

World Recognition. UNESCO declared this area a Biosphere Reserve in 1976, meaning it's recognized worldwide as a place of special importance for nature and science.
