The Summer Triangle

Three super bright stars. The Summer Triangle is made of three of the brightest stars you can see from Earth: Altair, Deneb, and Vega. Each one is the brightest star in its own constellation, making them extra special.

Visible almost everywhere. If you live anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere, you can see the Summer Triangle. Even many people in the Southern Hemisphere can spot it, which makes it one of the most famous star patterns in the sky.

Animals in the stars. The constellations inside the triangle tell a story, with an eagle's head and a swan's tail appearing within the three stars. Two smaller constellations, Sagitta and Vulpecula, also hide between them like tiny creatures in a cosmic picture.

Easy to find. The Summer Triangle appears highest in the sky during summer evenings in the Northern Hemisphere, which is why it got its name. Its huge size makes it one of the easiest star patterns to spot once you know what to look for.
