Cool Facts
Flat and portable. Tablets are thin, lightweight computers with screens between 7 and 13 inches that you can hold and carry around easily. They're bigger than smartphones but smaller and lighter than laptops.
Touch to control. Instead of using a keyboard and mouse like traditional computers, you control tablets by touching the screen directly with your fingers. This makes them really intuitive and fun to use.
Battery powered. Tablets have rechargeable batteries inside, so you can use them for hours without plugging them in. When the battery gets low, you just charge them up again.
Mobile operating systems. Tablets run the same operating systems as smartphones, like iOS or Android, which means they can run the same apps and software. Most tablets don't connect to cellular networks like phones do, but they can use WiFi instead.
Computer capabilities. Even though tablets are smaller than laptops, they have similar computer power and can do many of the same things like browsing the internet, watching videos, and running apps.
