Snowdon towers high. Wales' tallest mountain, Snowdon, reaches toward the sky in the north of the country. Thousands of people hike to its peak every year to see the incredible views across the land.

Super long coastline. Wales has over 2,700 kilometres of coastline, which is longer than you might expect for a country that fits inside Great Britain! This means beaches, cliffs, and seaside towns are never far away.

Part of the UK. Wales is one of four countries in the United Kingdom, alongside England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. It shares the island of Great Britain with England and Scotland.

Cardiff is the heart. Cardiff is Wales' capital and largest city, where you'll find the government buildings and most of the people. It sits in the south of the country near the Bristol Channel.

Rainy and changeable. Wales has a maritime climate, which means it gets plenty of rain and the weather can change quickly. The mountains in the north and center catch a lot of moisture from the Atlantic Ocean.
