Cool Facts
Made from cocoa butter. White chocolate comes from cocoa butter, which is the natural fat extracted from cocoa beans. Even though it looks nothing like dark chocolate, it still comes from the same cocoa plant.
Has milk and sugar. Besides cocoa butter, white chocolate contains sugar and milk solids (the dry parts of milk). These ingredients make it creamy, smooth, and sweet to eat.
Is it really chocolate?. Some people say white chocolate isn't true chocolate because it doesn't have cocoa solids, the ingredient that makes regular chocolate dark and gives it that chocolatey taste. But since it does contain cocoa butter, it's definitely made from cocoa.
Ivory colored and smooth. White chocolate is pale and creamy looking, not brown like milk or dark chocolate. Its light color comes from the fact that it only has cocoa butter without any of the dark cocoa powder mixed in.
