Lives in the Himalayas. The Yeti is said to inhabit the Himalayan mountain range in Asia, one of the world's highest and coldest places where very few people venture.

Huge and hairy. According to stories, the Yeti is a large, hairy creature that looks somewhat like a humanoid animal, though no one has ever captured one.

Mysterious evidence. People have claimed to see the Yeti and left behind supposed proof like photographs, video recordings, and plaster casts of enormous footprints.

Probably not real. Many of the photos, videos, and footprints offered as proof have been found to be hoaxes or fakes, and scientists have no solid evidence the Yeti actually exists.

Called many names. In Western countries, people often call this creature the Abominable Snowman, but it goes by different names in the mountainous regions where the legend started.
