Cool Facts
Eight times heavier. 55 Cancri Ae has about eight times the mass of Earth, making it way denser and stronger than our home planet.
Twice Earth's width. The planet is roughly twice as wide as Earth, but packed with much more material, so it's super dense and heavy.
Blazingly fast orbit. This exoplanet zooms around its star in less than 18 hours, completing an orbit faster than you sleep at night.
Record-breaking discovery. 55 Cancri Ae was the first super-Earth ever found around a Sun-like star when it was announced in 2004, opening up a whole new type of planet to explore.
Close to its star. Being the innermost planet in its system, it orbits extremely close to its host star called 55 Cancri A, making it incredibly hot.
