Two-stage rocket. Falcon 9 has two main sections that fire in sequence to push cargo all the way to orbit. The first stage can land itself back on Earth and be reused for another mission.

Reuses its engines. Unlike older rockets that crash into the ocean after one launch, Falcon 9's first stage lands upright on a platform or ground so SpaceX can use it again. This saves money and helps launch more often.

Carries cargo and crew. Falcon 9 has flown over 670 times to deliver supplies to the International Space Station and launch satellites into orbit. In 2020, it became the first commercial rocket to carry astronauts to space.

Champion launcher. Falcon 9 holds the record for the most launches of any active rocket in the world. Its mix of power, reliability, and reusability makes it SpaceX's workhorse.
