Capital of Ghana. Accra is the biggest city in Ghana, a country in West Africa. It's the place where the government makes important decisions for the whole nation.

Right on the ocean. Accra sits on the southern coast of Ghana, right where the Gulf of Guinea meets the Atlantic Ocean. This location made it a perfect spot for fishing and trading throughout history.

Millions call it home. About 5.46 million people live in the Greater Accra Region, making it one of the most crowded places in Ghana. The city keeps growing as more and more people move there.

Divided into districts. The city is split into 13 local government districts that help manage different neighborhoods. This system helps the city run smoothly even though it's so large.

Heart of Ghana. The central part of Accra, called the City of Accra, covers only about 20 square kilometers but is the official city center where most government buildings are located.
