Royal Residence. Copenhagen is home to Amalienborg Palace, where the Danish royal family actually lives. It's one of the few European palaces still used as a residence by a reigning monarch.

Bridge to Sweden. The Øresund Bridge stretches across the water to connect Copenhagen with Malmö, Sweden. You can drive or take a train across it to visit another country in just minutes.

Island City. Copenhagen sits mainly on the island of Zealand, with a smaller part on the island of Amager. Being built on islands gives the city lots of water and waterfront charm.

Super Populated. About 1.4 million people live in Copenhagen's urban area, making it Denmark's biggest city by far. It's the heart of Danish culture, business, and government.

Biking Paradise. Copenhagen is famous for its bike culture, with more bicycles than cars on many streets. Kids and adults ride bikes everywhere to get around the city.
