Flat top shape. Table Mountain has an unusually flat summit that looks like a giant table, which is how it got its name. The flat part stretches about 3 kilometers across.
Cape Town landmark. This mountain towers over Cape Town and is so recognizable that it appears on South Africa's coat of arms. Millions of visitors come to see it every year.
Rotating cable car. A special rotating cable car takes visitors from the bottom to the top, turning slowly as it climbs so everyone gets a 360-degree view of the city and ocean below.
One of seven wonders. Table Mountain was named one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011, competing against amazing natural landmarks from around the entire world.
Unique plants live here. The mountain's slopes are covered with fynbos, a special type of vegetation found only in South Africa with thousands of plant species found nowhere else on Earth.
