Many types exist. Adhesives come in lots of forms like glue, cement, mucilage, and paste. Each type works best for different materials and jobs, from sticking paper to bonding metal parts.

Super strong bonds. Good adhesives don't just stick things together, they resist pulling apart and separate forces. Some adhesives can hold objects together even under stress and heavy weight.

Natural and human-made. Adhesives can come from nature, like tree sap and animal products, or be created in labs as synthetic materials. Scientists keep inventing new types that work better and longer.

Works on surfaces. Adhesives are applied to one or both surfaces of items that need joining. The way a surface is prepared can change how well an adhesive sticks to it.
